LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police is asking for the public's assistance in a Washington County cold case involving a Bardstown man.
KSP has been investigating the murder of Yul Rayford, 51, since 2016. Rayford was found shot in his vehicle of off Bloomfield Road (KY 55), a mile and a half north of Springfield, Kentucky, on June 14, 2016.
According to police, a landowner located the vehicle parked on his property on Bardstown Road. The landowner noticed the vehicle, which was still running. Rayford was slumped over in the driver's seat.
Rayford had a single gunshot wound to the head. Police didn't find a weapon at the scene.
He was taken to the hospital where he died.
KSP is re-examining the cold case for new leads.
