LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Frankfort, Kentucky, are asking for help tracking down whoever is responsible for leaving Ku Klux Klan propaganda in parts of the city.

In a social media post, the Frankfort Police Department said areas of the community experienced what it called an "appalling act of littering."

The post said the department doesn't tolerate hate in any form. "This behavior goes against the values of our community, and the Frankfort Police Department is taking this matter very seriously."

Grayson Vandegrift, the mayor of nearby Midway, Kentucky, posted on social media that "hateful posters were distributed around town overnight."

His post said, "Make no mistake: there’s no place for this in Midway. A few hateful people are no match for the thousands of good and welcoming folks who call Midway home. Any hate you misdirect will be met with an abundance of loving, caring, and welcoming people."

Frankfort Police asked for the public's assistance from people who live in the area where the propaganda was found. Anyone with a security camera or doorbell camera that has footage of what happened is asked to contact the police non-emergency line at 502-875-8582.
