LOISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from Madison County Sunday evening.

According to police, Jarod R. Barnes walked away from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center around 6:45 p.m. The 28-year-old is from Elizabethtown.

Barnes is a 5'9", 206-pound, Black man with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, black sweatpants and white tennis shoes. Police said Barnes has tattoos on his chest and arms.

Barnes was serving a sentence for possession of engaging in organized crime-criminal syndicate, trafficking in a controlled substance, being a persistent felony offender and other charges.

Anyone with any information about Barnes' location is asked to call KSP Post 7 at (859) 623-2404. He is known to go around Elizabethtown, Louisville and Hardin County.
