LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky state representative from Shively is serving 10 days of house arrest in her second DUI case.

Rep. Beverly Chester-Burton was sentenced last week to home incarceration and a $350 fine.

Chester-Burton agreed to an Alford plea, meaning she maintains her innocence but acknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction.

Shively police arrested her for DUI in August 2024 after she parked and blocked part of Garrs Lane. That was her second DUI offense.

While serving as mayor of Shively in 2020, police said she fell asleep at the wheel in a White Castle drive-thru, rear-ended a truck, drove away and hit a utility pole. She pleaded guilty in that case.
