LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 24-year-old Lawrenceburg man was arrested and charged with attempted murder of a police officer in connection to a police shooting on Saturday, according to Kentucky State Police.
KSP investigated a police shooting involving suspect Daejon Rucker at a McDonald's in Anderson County on Dec. 23, 2023.
According to police, officers with Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to a verbal altercation inside the McDonald's at 203 West Park Drive. Rucker fired at police as they turned into the parking lot, according to Kentucky State Police.
Police shot Rucker and he was taken to Frankfort Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries before being taken to Albert B. Chandler University of Kentucky Hospital.
Rucker was released from the hospital on Jan. 20 and a warrant of arrest was obtained, according to police.
Rucker was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, attempted murder, wanton endangerment of a police officer, wanton endangerment and violation of an emergency protective order.
The two police officers involved in the shooting were placed on two-week paid administrative leave.
