LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was charged for allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend.

Davontae Calloway, 23, is charged with assault and wanton endangerment. According to court documents, Calloway shot his ex-girlfriend after a verbal argument.

Police said she had gone home and was sitting in her car in the parking lot with a two-year-old sitting in the passenger seat.

Police said Calloway shot at her car several times, with the shots going across the child and hitting the woman twice in her knee.

The woman was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, and has two bullet fragments in her knee, according to court documents.

Calloway pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday, and a judge set his bond at $100,000 full cash. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 23.
