LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man appeared in court Thursday morning, accused of stealing a car and hitting a person.

According to an arrest report, Bryson Holland jumped in the front seat of a car while a woman was putting groceries in her trunk Thursday at the Kroger on West Broadway. Police said the woman climbed in the passenger seat to try to stop him, but he pushed her out of the vehicle and hit another vehicle parked behind them.

Holland is also accused of hitting a witness who tried to block his escape, sending her to the hospital for her injuries.

Police said in Holland's arrest report they were able to track him down because the victim's cellphone was still in the car.

Holland was arrested and charged with assault and robbery. He pleaded not guilty in arraignment court Thursday morning, where his bond was set at $50,000 cash.
