LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man charged with murder after he allegedly shot a woman eight times at the Shawnee Park Drive boat ramp over the weekend was in court Wednesday.Ā

Michael Bullock, 27, was arraigned from Metro Corrections, on Wednesday, a day after his arrest in connection to the shooting death of 32-year-old Rachel Hughes. LMPD officers found her body just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday the the Shawnee Park boat ramp. Investigators said theyĀ found Hughes shot multiple times in a wooded area.

She died at the scene.Ā

"Nobody deserves what happened," Hughes' mother, Tammy Bryant, said Monday. "Nobody deserves that."

According to court documents, Bullock and Hughes were seen on surveillance video leaving a Bardstown Road business Sunday. Hughes' mother — who said this week the two had been living together — said they were at the 247 Laundromat.

They then drove to the boat ramp in west Louisville, at which point surveillance cameras there captured them both getting out of the car. Police said Hughes was walking ahead of Bullock when he pulled out a handgun and fired eight times, shooting her twice in the head and six times in the neck and torso.

Bullock then walked back to the car and left, police said.

According to court documents, Bullock returned to the scene two times with someone else. Bullock and that unidentified co-defendant were seen grabbing Hughes' body and dragging it into a nearby wooded area.

Police said Bullock is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing a handgun and is on federal probation.

He's charged with murder, robbery, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
