LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested and charged with two counts of murder after a mother and her 14-year-old daughter were found shot to death Tuesday morning in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
Officers were called to the 3900 block of Miami Avenue around 10:15 a.m. on a report of "persons down," Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That's off Bank Street and North 39th Street.
Once on scene, police found the victims with "fatal injuries." They were pronounced at the scene, Mitchell said.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating. Earlier Tuesday, investigators had no suspects and had made no arrests. Mitchell said officers were "canvassing the area for any information and are following leads."
At 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Mitchell said investigators had a male in custody who was being interviewed. He said the homicide "appears to be domestic."
Just before 6 p.m., LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders said officers arrested Tobias Malone, 24, and charged him with two counts of murder (domestic violence) and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
According to the arrest citation, Malone gave a mirandized statement admitting to shooting both victims. The citation also said he admitted to destroying one of the victim's cell phone and throwing the gun he used in the shooting out of a car window.
Malone was arraigned Wednesday morning in court. He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $1 million. He's expected next in court Thursday, June 11.
