LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police arrested a man Wednesday after they said he shot a woman in the Park Hill neighborhood.
LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said officers were called to a shooting around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at South 23rd Street and Woodland Avenue. When they arrived, they found a woman who had been shot in the groin.
Montra Huddleston, 35, had gotten into a verbal argument with the woman before the shooting happened, according to an arrest citation.
The woman was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Huddleston fled the scene and went to his residence after the shooting, where he was later detained by officers.
He was in court on Thursday where he pled not guilty to assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bond, which was increased from $25,000 after a motion from the county attorney.
Huddleston is scheduled to be back in court on May 9.
