LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after a shooting on Poplar Level Road in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a report of a "person down" in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Road around 9:45 p.m., according to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. That's near Rangeland Road, not far from East Indian Trail.

Once on scene, EMS told police a man had been shot and was pronounced dead.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation but has no suspects and has made no arrests. Investigators are canvassing the area for any possible witnesses or surveillance video.
