JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — A suspect is in custody after police said a stabbing led to an hours-long barricade at a home in Jeffersonville overnight.

Jeffersonville Police were called to a reported stabbing around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. During the investigation, officers developed information that led them to a home on East 8th Street near Foxglove Drive, where they said the suspect had barricaded himself inside.

Police established a perimeter around the home while working to take the suspect into custody. After several hours, the suspect surrendered and was arrested without further incident.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for numerous stab wounds. An update on the victim's condition has not been released.

Police have not identified the suspect or victim, and it is unclear what led to the stabbing. The investigation remains ongoing.
