LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man wanted on a murder warrant for a fatal shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood last December has been arrested.
Louisville Metro Police said the department's Fugitive Unit arrested Cornell Hill, 48, for the Dec. 2, 2023 murder at 24th Street and Elliott Avenue.
According to court records, Hill shot and killed Demonte J. Cobbs. Police cited surveillance video of the incident that showed the suspect and the victim in a physical altercation that led to Hill pulling out a gun and firing one shot at Cobbs.Â

Police said Hill, a multi-time convicted felon, fled the scene on foot and was not supposed to have a gun at the time of the shooting.
Hill was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday morning.
