LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after a shooting in the Taylor Berry neighborhood Wednesday evening.
According to Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to a report of a shooting around 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of Taylor Boulevard near Clara Avenue.
Officers found a man who had been shot. He was transported in critical condition to University Hospital where he later died, Mitchell said.
According to court documents, 21-year-old Raymond Holmes was arrested shortly after the shooting.
The LMPD Homicide Unit reviewed surveillance footage showing the victim fleeing the area, and Holmes shooting at him. Police obtained a search warrant for Holmes' car and found a stolen handgun inside.
Holmes is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday on murder and receiving stolen property charges.
