LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A suspected home intruder was hospitalized after a man wrestled a weapon away from him and stabbed him.
According to Matthew Sanders, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to a home in the 3200 block of Springfield Drive just before 11:30 p.m.
The home is in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood.
Police said a man and his wife were inside when a masked man entered the home and stabbed the husband.
The husband was able to wrestle the weapon away and stab the intruder, police said.
The suspect fled on foot before an LMPD K9 found him hiding in a nearby trash can.
Police said the suspect was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the husband suffered a cut and is expected to be OK.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
