LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot in Portland on Saturday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting near North 19th and Lytle streets around 5 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot.
Ellis said the man was alert and conscious while being taken to University of Louisville Hospital. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threating, according to police.
LMPD's Non-Fatal-Unit is handling the investigation.
Ellis said a person of interest was detained and is being questioned by LMPD detectives.
