LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man will be charged after crashing a stolen motorcycle near Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Louisville Metro Police officers were called to a reported crash between a crossover SUV and a motorcycle in the area of Greenwood Road and the Greenbelt Highway around 6:17 p.m., department spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders said in a news release. That's not far from Cane Run Road and Riverview Park.
Police believe the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was headed north on the Greenbelt Highway, while a crossover SUV was headed south. As the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Greenwood Road, the vehicle and the motorcycle crashed head-on, Sanders said.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and transported to University Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, according to police.
The driver of the crossover SUV remained at the scene and "is OK," Sanders said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash, and found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen.
Sanders said the driver of the motorcycle will be "charged accordingly following his recovery from the hospital."
Police said the intersection of Greenwood Road and the Greenbelt Highway would remain closed for about an hour for the Traffic Unit to reconstruct the scene.
