LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The mother of a 3-month-old baby who drowned in a Louisville motel bathtub has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Louisville Metro Police said 36-year-old Amber Winstead was arrested Wednesday. On New Year's Day around 4:40 a.m. officers responded to a report of a drowning at a room at the Motel 6 on Airport Hotels Boulevard.

According to an arrest warrant, Winstead used narcotics before getting into the bathtub with her child. Winstead told police another person woke her up hours after she got in the bathtub.

The baby submerged in the tub and drowned.
