LOUISIVLLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man could spend 100 years in prison after being indicted on multiple firearms charges.
Allen Love, 39, of New Albany, made his first court appearance this week on four counts of firearms trafficking, three counts of illegal possession of a machine gun, and one count of illegal possession of an unregistered firearm, according to a news release.
Love is accused of firearms trafficking on Feb. 1, 5 and 17, and March 6 of this year, according to the indictment.
He's charged with three counts of illegal possession of a machine gun for six "Swift Conversion Devices," which allow a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle to function as a fully automatic, on Feb. 5 and 17, and March 6. The devices are defined as a machine gun under federal law.
He was also charged with illegally possessing an unregistered firearm for a 9-millimeter, short-barreled rifle on Feb. 1.
If convicted, Love faces a maximum 100 years in prison. That will be determined by a federal judge at a later date. There is no parole in the federal system.
Love is being held at the Oldham County Detention Center.
