LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An 18-year veteran officer of the New Albany Police Department was arrested Wednesday and is facing felony charges related to stalking.
Sgt. Chad Armenta, an officer with the department's Uniform Division, was arrested and booked into the Floyd County Jail, New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said in a news release.
Armenta is being charged with two counts of felony official misconduct and two counts of felony stalking. He is also facing three misdemeanor charges for criminal trespass, interference in reporting a crime and harassment.
An investigation into Armenta was started by the Indiana State Police at the request of Chief Bailey regarding Armenta's conduct.
Chief Bailey said in the release that Armenta is on paid administrative leave. It is unknown when Armenta is scheduled to be in court.
