LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Clarksville, Indiana, man was arrested on several charges related to child pornography and child solicitation.Â
Indiana State Police said in a news release Tuesday that investigators received 14 cyber tips about 20-year-old Dakari Gaines, of Clarksville, between March 2022 and this July. The tips were connected through common names, IP addresses, telephone numbers and other identifying information. Â
Gaines was arrested Monday after detectives searched his Clarksville home. He is in custody at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville.Â
Police in Gainesville, Florida, were also investigating Gaines for a case related to a juvenile in their jurisdiction. Through the course of their investigation, both Gainesville and ISP learned they were dealing with the same suspect.Â
Gaines is charged with child porn, child solicitation and inappropriate communication with a child.
The Indiana ICAC Task Force encourages Hoosiers to report online exploitation, solicitation, and enticement-type crimes against children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The NCMEC website can be accessed through the ICAC Task Force website. To report a crime with a child as a victim involving the Internet or other electronic means, contact your local Indiana law enforcement agency.
