LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person was found dead in downtown Louisville Friday morning, sparking a death investigation by LMPD.

According to LMPD spokesman Adam Sears, officers were called around 6:30 a.m. to the area of Brook and Gray streets, near the hospitals. When they arrived on scene, they found a person dead.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and they said it is in the early stages.
