LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- School leaders cut the ribbon Friday morning on renovations and new construction at Atherton High School.

The $54 million renovation, announced in February, 2024, includes a new, three-story classroom addition at the center of the school's campus.

"We have made do with the space that we've had for a very long time," Principal Stephanie Fluhr said Friday. "Our teachers have instructed in hallways. They have instructed behind the auditorium. They have instructed in libraries. They have shared classrooms for years, and our students have persevered throughout all of those shared spaces."

The project also renovated the school's HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
