LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Seymour electrician is facing federal charges after investigators said he ran a scheme that cost his employer more than $200,000 over several years.
Clyde Hatton, 47, is charged with one count of wire fraud.
Court documents allege that beginning in October 2020, Hatton used a company credit card to purchase wire and other electrical materials. Investigators saif he then sold the items to a scrap yard and kept the money for himself.
Officials did not identify the company involved in the case.
Authorities said Hatton later tried to cover his tracks by submitting receipts and labeling the purchases as legitimate business expenses.
Federal prosecutors said Hatton agreed to plead guilty. A judge will formally accept his change of plea at a later date.
