LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man in Ohio was charged with assault of a police officer in Taylorsville, according to Spencer County Sheriff's Office.
Spencer County Sheriff Andrew Ware said Evonte Young drove through the area in a vehicle with a stolen license plate, which was identified by Flock cameras. The vehicle was reported stolen from New Jersey.
Young, from Fairfield, Ohio, didn't comply with a deputy during a traffic stop around 5 p.m. He fled the scene and hurt the deputy's foot and damaged the deputy's vehicle.
"According to our understanding, the suspect created another incident while attempting to flee from Fairfield PD. I also want to give thanks to Taylorsville PD for backing our deputy," Ware said. "This incident could have been much worse."
The deputy was treated and released from the hospital.Â
Young was arrested Monday morning. He was charged with assault of a police officer, criminal mischief, fleeing or evading police and receiving stolen property, among other charges.Â
