Taylor County funeral director pleads not guilty in fraud case involving 13 families

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) — A funeral director in Taylor County accused of defrauding over a dozen families appeared in court Tuesday.

Judge Samuel Spalding entered a not guilty plea for 53-year-old Donald Auberry in Taylor Circuit Court. Auberry was indicted last week on 13 counts of violation of trust provisions/pre-need payments for funeral services.

Court documents allege Auberry, owner of Auberry Funeral Home in Campbellsville, Kentucky, defrauded families paying for funeral services "at least 13 times" between July 2021 and April 2025.

Auberry is currently out on a $2,000 bond. He is expected back in court Aug. 18 at 9 a.m.
