LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A University of Kentucky employee and former middle school wrestling coach is facing new federal charges after investigators accused her of sexually abusing a 14-year-old.

Megan Foley, 36, was initially arrested on state charges including rape, sexual abuse and sodomy. Police began investigating after the teen reported multiple instances of alleged abuse.

Federal charges now accuse Foley of online enticement of a minor and transporting a minor for unlawful sexual activity.

According to court documents, Foley communicated with the teen through text messages, Snapchat and TikTok. The alleged abuse also occurred during a trip to Madison County.

Investigators say Foley admitted to the abuse during an interview.

Foley previously worked as a wrestling coach at Bourbon County Middle School. She is also employed by the University of Kentucky.

UK placed Foley on administrative leave following the allegations. The Kentucky Board of Nursing also suspended her nursing license.
