LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man after officials say he shot his wife on Saturday.
Louisville Metro Police announced around 1:30 a.m. Sunday that Charles Shoulders, 73, was arrested and charged with murder in the case after he shot his wife, Jaundora Shoulders, 64. According to the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner, Jaundora Shoulders was pronounced dead at the scene. She died from a single gun shot wound to the head.
LMPD officials said the shooting happened at their home near the corner of 40th Street and Kentucky Street in west Louisville just after 8 p.m. Saturday. Official police records state that Shoulders then called 911 and told the operator he had just shot his wife and thought she was dead.
Investigators say the victim was found at the scene and was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound. Authorities say Shoulders "made spontaneous utterances admitting he had just shot his wife."
Shoulders was arrested and taken to LMPD headquarters, according to an official police report.
Police say that while Shoulders was in an interview room awaiting processing, he urinated on the floor and broke a table that was mounted on a wall. Officials say the estimated damage to the room exceeded of $500.
Shoulders is also charged with criminal mischief.
