LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is expected to survive after being shot in the leg in the Algonquin neighborhood Sunday night.
According to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis, officers were called to the 1600 block of South 13th Street around 11:50 p.m. for a reported shooting.
They found a woman, who was alert and conscious, inside the location when they arrived.
She was transported to University Hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening, according to Ellis.
Detectives are working to find out what led to the shooting and what a possible motive could be.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating the incident.
