LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A shooting in the Portland neighborhood early Saturday morning sent a woman to the hospital.Â
It happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the 400 block of N. 28th Street, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That's where officers from LMPD's First Division were sent after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived at that location they found the woman with a gunshot wound. Police said she received medical treatment at the scene.
The victim was "alert and conscious" when she was taken to UofL Hospital. Police said her injuries did not appear life-threatening.Â
