LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gas prices have fallen to their lowest level of the year in many areas since the peak of the pandemic four years ago.

The fall is starting to impact consumers in a very positive way, including holiday shopping.

With Black Friday shopping just a month away, a report from the investment firm Raymond James said this "should provide a boost to consumer spending."

Gasoline prices are one of the key economic barometers that Americans use. Predictions of a consumer slowdown this fall may be premature thanks to this sudden gift at the gas pump.

All it takes is a flare up in the Middle East or a refinery fire to send prices back up, but for now drivers should enjoy the savings while they last.
