LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was hospitalized Friday afternoon after she was shot near Pleasure Ridge Park.
It happened around 12:45 p.m. in the 7700 block of St. Andrews Church Road, not far from Doss High School, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. When officers from the 3rd Division arrived at the scene, they found the woman with a gunshot wound to her arm and a "graze wound" to her back.
Officers provided medical assistance and used a tourniquet to control the bleeding until EMS arrived and took the victim to UofL Hospital downtown. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Detectives with LMPD's nonfatal shooting unit are investigating and trying to determine what led to the shooting.
