Dairy Del celebrates July 4 with free ice cream cones for kids who say the pledge

The promotion is available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Parents are encouraged to leave a tip.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A drive-thru ice cream shop in Louisville will continue its Independence Day tradition this year.

Dairy Del, located at 1516 S. Shelby St., offers a free ice cream cone to children 12 and younger when they recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

The promotion is available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
