Death investigation underway after woman's body found in Jennings County, Ind., lake

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police are working a death investigation near Vernon, Indiana in Jennings County.

Officials say 49-year-old Jama Brown's body was found in a lake on County Road 100 South, just southeast of Vernon.

A call found her body and reported it to police around 4 p.m. Saturday. At this point, officials say it appears to be "suspicious."

The Jennings County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police are investigating. Indiana Conservation Officers provided K-9s and other resources.

A medical examination of Brown's body is scheduled for Sunday.
