LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A docking bay fire at a Louisville business that caused a large cloud of smoke in the area Tuesday afternoon was accidental.
Louisville Fire Capt. Donovan Sims said crews were using defensive operations for the fully-involved fire in the 6300 block of Strawberry Lane in the Southland Park neighborhood. According to a MetroSafe supervisor, the fire broke out at BLC Industries.
In an update Tuesday night, Sims said the fire was under control in about 20 minutes with the help of 29 firefighters, four engines, three trucks and two battalion chiefs.
Sims said the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental after a worker used a hot wire inside the building.
No injuries or further incidents were reported, and no hazardous materials or chemicals were found inside the building.
