LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested for driving a tow truck under the influence and causing a crash Tuesday night on Dixie Highway.

LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis said the crash happened around 9 p.m. in the 12700 block of Dixie Highway, near Blevins Gap Road.

According to the arrest citation, Israel Rivera Gonzalez, 49, was driving a Suburban Towing truck the wrong way on Dixie Highway when he hit another car.

Gonzalez failed multiple sobriety tests and was arrested on the scene.

Police searched Gonzalez and found multiple syringes. He then admitted to officers that he took fentanyl before the accident.

He is charged with wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, as well as other charges.
