LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man died Sunday afternoon after crashing an SUV into a concrete median and overturning on Interstate 264 near Bells Lane.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded about 3 p.m. to a crash at the 3.8 mile marker on I-264 West near the Bells Lane exit.

Police said the driver of an SUV carrying a passenger lost control for an unknown reason. The SUV then crashed into another vehicle.

The impact caused the SUV to hit a concrete median and overturn. Police said the SUV’s adult passenger was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of the SUV died at the scene. On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the driver as 48-year-old Anwar Watson.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
