LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three University of Louisville graduates had their work visas revoked by the Department of Homeland Security.
According to a UofL spokesperson, the former students were participating in the Federal Optional Practical Training Program (OPT) and had their SEVIS records terminated.
The program authorizes temporary employment for international students on F-1 visas in positions directly related to their field of study.
OPT isn't a practicum or co-op but a work authorization program, UofL said.
The university said it’s not aware of any current students who have had their records terminated or of any visa revocations.
