LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public School students have been back to school for about a week now, and the head of the district is making sure communication between parents, students, and teachers is a top priority.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood stopped by Male High School Saturday morning during his "Community Conversations" tour.
The tour is a way for students and staff to open up dialogue with the Superintendent and get a better understanding of JCPS' vision. The interactive forum focused on student achievement and engagement.
"When we lead from a place of truth, a place of purpose, and a place of integrity, we create schools where students, staff, and families are truly empowered to do the same," Yearwood said.
There are three stops left on the tour with the next one being at Ballard High School on Aug. 21 from 5:30-7 p.m., followed by Jeffersontown High School on Aug. 26 from 5:30-7 p.m. and Academy @ Shawnee on Sept. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m.
