JCPS hosting ‘Community Conversations’ with new superintendent Brian Yearwood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The new superintendent for Jefferson County Public Schools will host a series of public forums this summer.

The Jefferson County Board of Education unanimously approved Brian Yearwood as the next JCPS superintendent in May. Yearwood, who last served as superintendent of Columbia Public Schools in Missouri from 2021-24, agreed to a four-year contract worth $350,000 per year. He began July 1.

Yearwood will host a series of public forums "Community Conversations with Dr. Brian Yearwood," which is designed to foster open dialogue and direct engagement between the district and the community.

Parents, students, staff and interested community members are welcome to attend.

"These Community Conversations are essential for me to listen, learn and collaborate with our families, students and dedicated staff.
