LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For many high schoolers, life after school may be a little ways down the road but some are getting first-hand knowledge now of life in the real world.
Jefferson Community and Technical College held a "career connector" Saturday. More than 70 students had the chance to engage with Louisville's top employers like U of L Health.
It was all about career exploration as many students even brought their resumes.
They learned about youth apprenticeship programs and how to be placed in high-demand careers like nursing, electrical and real estate.
"It's so important for students to be able to to have opportunities to speak to employers, to understand really what those careers paths look like so they don't go into a job and find out it's nothing like what they expected," Kathleen Lewis, JCTC recruitment specialist, said.
The students also have opportunities to ask questions of employers and event interview on the spot.
