LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Parents have a chance to weigh in on how Jefferson County Public Schools handles programs for students with disabilities.
Saturday, Metro Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins, D-1, will hold a community forum for parents to address JCPS and how they think the district manages Individualized Education Plans, or IEPs. JCPS representatives and board members have been invited to attend.
The forum will be 2-4 p.m. at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus, 2828 W. Broadway.
Hawkins said several parents have brought concerns to her office about the process.
"If they did not want their kids in the program, some parents were having issues with removing their kids who they feel shouldn't be in the program," Hawkins said.
