LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Spalding University will host a 24-hour event encouraging donations for the Louisville school.
The 9th annual Giving Day starts at 12:01 p.m. on Sept. 5. People are encouraged to contribute to the university with donations that will support student scholarships, academic programming, student initiatives and campus development.
This year's goal is to raise $75,000 in donations from 350 donors.
"Spalding’s Annual Giving Day focuses on the impact that gifts to Spalding make on the lives of students," Michael Buckman, chief advancement officer of advancement and alumni relations, said in a news release. "Through the university’s mission to serve others, we are committed in extending these funds to financially support our students, improve our academic programs and continuously collaborate with our staff and students to improve our university campus."
Some of Spalding University's initiatives for this year include a Life Design Labs for the Career Design Center, a School of Social Work and a School of Business Scholarship.
