LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The president of Spalding University plans to retire after the 2023-24 academic year.
After spending 14 years as the university's president, Tori Murden McClure will retire in June 2024. She has served for 25 years in various roles at the university in Louisville.
"The university and I have had a great run, and serving Spalding has been the honor of a lifetime," McClure said in a statement. "I plan to work diligently in the coming months to create a smooth transition for whomever follows."
McClure said some of her most cherished memories are the times she shared with students. She also appreciated the faculty support.
"I have enjoyed nearly constant support and goodwill from the faculty at Spalding," she said. "I rank them among the most dedicated professionals I have known. My respect for the dignity of the scholarly life is unyielding and I look forward to having more time to read more books, articles, and academic papers written by our exceptional Spalding faculty."
McClure called the staff at Spalding "spectacular."Â
