LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — East Market Street was full of people Saturday as Louisville's NuLu Summer Fest returned for another year.

The annual event brought more than 80 local vendors to the 700 and 800 blocks of East Market Street. Shoppers browsed booths selling jewelry, artwork, clothing, candles and other handmade items.

People also grabbed food from local restaurants and food trucks, listened to live music and took part in games like watermelon-eating and limbo contests.

For some visitors, it was their first time exploring NuLu.

"When we visit a place, we try to get a little feel for the local vibe, so we did some really cool local restaurants" Tim Sir said. "Doing this in NuLu has been a lot of fun."

NuLu Summer Fest is hosted each year by the NuLu Business Association. Performers this year included School of Rock, Rick Quisol and the Derby City Dandies, and The Ark Band.
