LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After a 7-month national search, Trinity High School has named its next president.

James "JT" Torra, who was the school's vice resident for advancement, will be the school's next president. He has been with the school for 20 years and has held administrative, teaching and coaching positions.

Torra will begin his tenure as president on July 1 after Dr. Robert Mullen announced his plans in May 2024 to step down.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Trinity High School and its esteemed tradition of helping young men reach their full potential, forming men of faith and men of character,” Torra said in a news release. “My experiences at Trinity during the past 20 years have prepared me well for this next chapter. Utilizing a collaborative approach, I will work passionately with all sectors of the Trinity community to build on the school’s rich legacy and core values, while also creating a vision for continued growth and success.”

Torra began at Trinity in 2005 as a science center and associate head basketball coach.
