LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — It was an emotional goodbye for one of the pilots who died in the UPS plane crash earlier this month.

Southern Indiana resident Cynthia Jones shared photos on Facebook of her recent flight on Saturday from Louisville that was transporting the body of UPS pilot Dana Diamond back to Dallas.

Passengers about to board were told a ceremony was about to happen, and pilots, airport, and UPS employees along with Diamond's family lined up on the tarmac as his remains were put on the American Airlines flight.

Jones said once the plane landed in Dallas, passengers waited until Diamond's family was escorted off.

"Everyone was real respectful then as they were passing up aisles, you could hear people saying 'prayers are with you' and 'bless your family and stuff', so, it was very touching, very sad," Jones said.

In total, 14 people died, including Diamond and two other pilots, Capt. Richard Wartenberg and First Officer Lee Truittwhen, when UPS Flight 2976 crashed just after take off on Nov. 4 after its left wing caught fire.
