LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A restaurant in Louisville's NuLu is permanently closed after only being open for a year.

Byrdie's, a French-inspired bistro, located in Hotel Genevieve, has closed, as reported by our partners at Louisville Business First.

The almost 3,000 square-foot restaurant opened in Dec. 2024 by James Beard-nominated chef Jenner Tomaska and his wife and business partner, Katrina Bravo.

“Louisville: You welcomed us with open arms, and it has been such an honor to serve this city's incredible community," Tomaska told Louisville Business First. "We are deeply grateful to every member of our team and to every guest who ever walked through the door."

Rumors of the restaurant's fate began to swirl since Feb. 7 when the restaurant posted on social media it would be closed that day to take a pause and reset. More questions came as Valentine's Day reservations were cancelled.
