LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Humana sold one of its Louisville buildings last month.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the health insurance giant sold its medical office building at 1918 Hikes Lane last month for $2.5 million.

The 17,000-square-foot building in West Buechel was built in 1990 and is partially leased to the JenCare Senior Medical Center.

A former Humana community center stopped operations in part of the building last year.

The building was purchased by Dr. Rishi Kumar, CEO of Louisville-based Kumar Eye Institute, which has five other area locations. Kumar told LBF there are no plans yet to open a new Kumar Eye Institute location, as the current tenant will remain and the other space will be leased.

Earlier this month, Mayor Craig Greenberg announced Louisville's iconic Humana Tower on West Main Street will be renovated into a 1,000-room convention center hotel
