LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An iconic Louisville Italian restaurant is getting some national recognition.

USA Today Network named Volare on Frankfort Avenue on its 2026 Restaurants of the Year list.

The list calls Volare a Louisville treasure known for special occasion dining, house-made pastas and ingredients from a farm owned by Executive Chef Josh Moore, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

"There are a ton of amazing restaurants in the city and in the state. I think something that makes us special, we've been here 22 years," Moore said. "And we have an amazing team. Not only amazing food, but the service is top-notch. You get the entire experience."

This comes about two weeks after another Louisville restaurant earned national attention. NuLu-based MeeshMeesh Mediterranean was ranked No. 29 on Yelp's list of top 100 restaurants in the United States.
